On August 17, 2023 at 9:23am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Indira Loza met with School Manager Davaki Nirula for the purpose of conducting an annual inspection. The school is on Summer Break until August 21, 2023. Due to this school being a Parent Co-op, there were children with their parents to practice the schedules and routines in place. There were 15 children, 16 parents, and 4 fingerprint cleared staff. The facility was toured for a health and safety check. The hours of operation are 9am-5:30pm Monday through Friday.

CLASSROOMS: The preschool utilizes two classrooms on site. The two rooms consist of plenty of sensory toys and various activities that promote learning while playing, and each classroom has a loft to give the children a place to rest and relax if needed. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center, the center utilizes water from the tap for drinking water and the children bring their water bottles from home. There is ample individual storage space for each child. The center has a smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, and pull down fire alarm system.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: This facility provides one snack, The children bring their lunch and an afternoon snack from home. LPA observed the food preparation area to be clean and free from any hazards. There is a 3A40BC fire extinguisher in the front room.
OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: The daycare has two large spaces divided by age groups. LPA observed an anchored play structure with cushioning to absorb falls and plenty age-appropriate toys and activities for the children. The children eat their snacks and lunch outside on the shaded patio. There is plenty of shade for the children in care.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: This facility has a separate bathroom for the children and the staff. The sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children can reach the sinks and toilets. There were supplies available to the children.

ISOLATION AREA: The isolation area is on the couch with a staff present.
RECORDS: All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance. All staff had a current Mandated Reporter Certificate and CPR Certificates. The last fire drill was conducted on May 4, 2023.
All required documents are posted in a publicly accessible area.

Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP. PIN 22-05-CCP Page Four. CCC has completed testing and remediated three water outlets with an exceedance. LPA referred School Manager Devaki Nirula to the Department website for lead: Lead Toxicity Prevention and Water Testing Information.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. School Manager was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

There were no deficiencies cited during today's visit.



A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with School Manager Devaki Nirula.
Appeal rights were provided.
