On 04/05/23, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay arrived at the facility for an announced case management inspection for a change of capacity and adding additional rooms. LPAs met with Site Principal, Sharon Travers. Present for today's inspection were eight children and six staff. The normal hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. LPAs conducted a tour of all the classrooms to conduct a health and safety inspection with Sharon. Five classrooms will be utilized along with front and back play yard. Measurements are as follows:

INDOORS: 3,539.78 = 101 children
OUTDOORS: 10,948.05 = 146 children

A fire clearance was received from the Oakland Fire Department for 124 preschoolers two years to first grade entry on 03/11/23.

LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. The outdoor play areas are fully fenced and have ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, and furniture. There is sufficient cushion to absorb a child's fall under the play structures and play areas. LPAs observed ample amount of shade for children. The building has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children.

A license for a capacity of 101 preschoolers is effective today 04/05/23, and can be used when the facility is ready. There are no deficiencies being cited today. A Notice of Site inspection was provided to Site Principal, Sharon Travers and an exit interview was conducted.
