On August 24, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur met with center Director Rebecca Hester for an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL RANDOM 1 YEAR INSPECTION for Preschool Component. Present for this inspection was 12 staff members and no preschool age children. The facility was toured by LPA with director to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The center operates Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.

There are 5 rooms designated for preschool age children (Rooms: Olive, Honey Sackle, Sage, Daisy, and Cherry Blossom). The Center is equipped with fully stocked first aid kits, fully charged fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide, fire alarm system, refrigerators and telephones. Classrooms have appropriate furniture and equipment for the use of children in care. There is adequate lighting, ventilation and heating in facility. There are adequate storage hooks and cubbies for children's belongings. All toilets, hand washing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition during today's inspection. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting lids. All surfaces accessible to children are clean and toxic free. Cots are available for use of children. The bedding is washed weekly by facility. Facility provides am/pm snacks. The menus are posted in each classroom. The center has conducted and documented a fire/disaster drill on 06/08/2022. The facility appears to be safe and sanitary. It was observed that there are no toxins or hazardous items accessible to children in care during today's inspection. The outdoor play structure has adequate and appropriate cushioning material to absorb falls. There is drinking water available in the classrooms and outdoor. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. The opener and closer staff have current First Aid and CPR.

LPA reviewed of staff files. The staff have current CPR/First Aid, mandated reporter training and immunization. The required Community Care Licensing forms are posted and visible for review.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
