On September 2, 2022, approximately at 8:00 , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur met with center Director Rebecca Hester for an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL RANDOM INSPECTION for Infant Age Component. Present for this inspection were 7 staff members and no infant age children. The facility was toured by LPA and center director to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. The center operates Monday-Friday from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.

There are 4 rooms designated for Infant age children (Rooms: Rose, Thistle, Lavender, and Ivy). The Thistle room is utilized only when needed. There is adequate lighting, heating and ventilation in the facility. The Center is equipped with fully stocked first aid kits, fully charged fire extinguishers, refrigerators, and working carbon monoxide. Classrooms have furniture and equipment for the use of children in care. There are adequate storage hooks for children's belongings. All diaper changing stations are within reach of arms length. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting lids. Cribs and Mats are available for use of children in each room. The bedding is weekly to be washed by facility. Facility serves am/pm snacks. There is a menu posted in each classroom. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. The center has conducted and documented a fire/disaster drill on 06/08/2022. The individual infant sleep plan and Needs/Services plan are in each children's file. It was observed that there are no toxins or hazardous items accessible to children in care during today's inspection. LPA reviewed children's files and staff files. The opener and closer staff have current First Aid and CPR. The facility is in compliance with CPR/First Aid, immunization law and mandated reporter training. Activity schedules and required Community Care Licensing forms are posted and visible for review.

Individual Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. The Director is reminded that when any changes to the IMS plan is made, an updated Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA information line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care centers and the ADA website at: http://www.ada.gov/childqanda.htm.

For licensing updates, email childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov and ask to be added to the distribution list.

Facility Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA also informed facility director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
