25 | On September 5, 2025, at 1:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Director Marilyn Escoto. LPA disclosed the purpose of the visit and toured the facility, inside and outside, to conduct a health and safety inspection. There were no children present during this inspection. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 6:00 PM.
All individuals subject to criminal record review have obtained the required clearances or exemptions and are associated with the facility. LPA verified the census; however, no children were signed in on the sign-in/out sheet at the time of inspection. Staff and children’s files were not reviewed today, as no children are currently enrolled.
At approximately 2:00 PM, LPA inspected the classroom. The center was in ratio, and the classroom was arranged to allow staff clear visibility of all activity areas. Low shelves were used to divide learning spaces, promoting children’s independence in selecting and returning materials. Soft flooring (rugs) was observed in play areas, and all floors were clean and well maintained. Each child has an individual designated storage space for personal belongings. The isolation area for children who become ill is located in the director’s office, separate from the main program areas. All required postings were observed in an area accessible to parents and staff.
The facility is equipped with smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, which were tested during the inspection and found to be operational. Additional emergency and safety equipment includes a working telephone, first aid kits, emergency backpacks, and multiple fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers mounted throughout the center, all of which meet State Fire Marshal standards. “Although no children are currently enrolled, the facility conducted a disaster drill within the past six months, during the summer session when children were present.”
