32 | Per director, there are currently children on any medication and LPA reviewed the IMS plan along with storage of medications. The first aid kit is available in the classroom B. Sign-in and sign-out logs were reviewed to verify census and signatures. LPA reviewed staff file and children files. There are no bodies of water accessible to children. Per director, there are no firearms on the premises. All storage areas for poisons are locked.
Director was reminded that EMSA approved Pediatric CPR & First Aid training must be completed every two (2) years. Mandated Reporter Training ("Child Care Providers") is required for all staff and is to be renewed every 2 years by visiting https://mandatedreporterca.com/. Personnel and facility roster must be properly maintained, and fire/disaster drills must be conducted at least every six (6) months and documented.
Director was reminded that California law requires facilities to report unusual incidents and/or injuries to children in care, to the child's parents, and to the Department within 24 hours by phone, fax, or email. Within seven (7) days from the incident, facilities must submit the Unusual Incident/Injury form (LIC 624) to the Department. LPA informed Director that all forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov.
Director was encouraged to frequently visit our website at www.ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates, and to also email childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov to be included in the Child Care Quarterly Updates distribution list. Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Deficiency cited during the inspection. This report shall remain on file for 3 years. A Notice of Site Visit was provided to the facility director. Appeal rights provided. Exit interview was conducted.
