Present during the inspection were 87 preschool age children and 17 additional staff members. The facility operates from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday thru Friday.
The purpose of today's inspection is the center is currently under increased monitoring as agreed upon during the Noncompliance Meeting between the director and community care licensing management on 06/28/2023. LPA Woods inspected four staff files around 10:00 AM and all files have the signed attendance sheets from Child Care Licensing compliance training video on 06/30/2023. The staff members also have a questionaire form about personal rights that's kept in their staff files, filled out, and signed. LPA also checked the children files the see if the center provided the parents with the LIC 9224 form, acknowledging that they received a copy of the report, and the form was in each of the children's files and the newly enrolled children files signed by the parent(s). The director sent the preschool families a newsletter explaining the new safety protocols for the 2023/2024 school year.
LPA Woods inspected the front gate that a child was able to walk out of the playground on May 12, 2023. LPA Woods was told by the facility representative that the gate was replaced and now is positioned in a way that children cannot reach or push the unlocking bar. The facility representative also stated that the center has a new policy for monitoring the gate that includes an out of bounds (red line) that was explained to children, parents, and staff.
