25 | On April 9, 2026, at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with Director Kristina Spink. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and toured the facility, both inside and out, for a health and safety inspection. There were 14 preschool age children present during this inspection and two (2) staff members. The facility consists of two classrooms. Hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
LPA checked the facility records and verified that all individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. LPA conducted a census of the children, and the census matched the 14 electronic signatures signed in on the Learning Care App. LPA reviewed four (4) children's files and one (1) staff files. All children’s files contained the Identification and Emergency Information, Parent’s Rights, and Medical Consent forms. The staff file contained the required Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse, Health Screening, and Employee Rights forms. At least one opening/closing staff member has a current CPR and First Aid certification.
All classrooms were inspected around 1:00 PM, and teacher-child ratio was observed to be in compliance. There are adequate play and learning materials available. The floors are well maintained, and the furniture is appropriately sized for preschool age children. The classrooms equipment are in good repair, and the room temperature is adequate for children in care. There is proper individual storage space for each child, and the cubbies have names and pictures posted on the shelves. The isolation area for sick children is the director’s office, away from other children in care.
LPA tested the center’s carbon monoxide detector and found it to be functioning properly. The center has wired smoke detectors throughout the facility. The smoke detector system is wired to notify the fire department when triggered. Per Director, the smoke detector system is fully functional and serviced regularly. The center also has a working telephone, pull-down fire alarm system, and multiple fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers throughout the center, which meet standards established by the State Fire Marshal. Disaster drills are conducted at least once every six months; the last drill was conducted on March 10, 2026. All required documents are posted in a publicly accessible area.
