25 | On December 15, 2022., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux and Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced 1 Year Annual Required Inspection and met with Director Elizabeth Villarreal. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry to the facility by the Director. There were 48 children present during this inspection and 14 additional staff members. The Day Carer Center consist of one (9) classrooms. The facility has two additional components the school age component #013411304 and Infant component #013411305. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday -Friday.
CLASSROOMS: Eight (8) classrooms was inspected. One (1) classroom is currently not being used (penguins classroom). There are adequate play and learning materials available. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center (parents bring water bottles from home). There is proper individual storage space for each child. The isolation area for sick children is in the directors office away from other children in care. The center has a wired smoke detectors, a carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, pull down fire alarm system, and 4 (four) fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers. The kitchen has one (1) fully charged 3A40BC. The kitchen area is for staff use only.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: The staff's bathroom is separate from the children's bathroom. There is a separate bathroom for the older children. All sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children are able to reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children.
