25 | On 12/2/2024 at 9:30am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with facility staff Melissa Vo for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection. The facility operates in buildings 3500 and 3700 on the Chabot College campus. Present during the inspection were twenty-six (26) preschool age children, seven (7) additional staff members, nine (9) Chabot College Early Childhood Education (ECE) lab students, and two (2) Chabot College Student Assistants. Five (5) classrooms, PreK1, PreK2, PreK3, PreK4 and PreK5, were toured for a health and safety inspection. Two (2) classrooms in building 3700, PreK4 and PreK5, are not in use Monday - Friday, but are used for a separate Saturday program. The facility operates from 7:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday. This facility is a Title V school and has a shared inactive infant license as well, #13411746.
LPA observed all classrooms to have ample age-appropriate materials for the children’s learning and play that were clean, properly stored and in proper working order. All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. All sinks and toilets are located inside the classrooms and were observed to be clean and in proper working order. All napping materials were observed to be well maintained and properly stored. The facility provides sleeping cots and bedding for the children. Facility does not have changing stations, but all diapering materials were observed to be properly stored and well maintained. All children have access to clean drinking water in each classroom. All children bring their own water bottles from home and the facility has water available to refill them if needed. There are multiple properly working smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits on site. The facility does not transport children.
