25 | On April 27, 2027 at 1:15 PM., LPA Elimika Woods met with the facility representative, Maria Soares for a case management visit due to incident that happened at the center on 06/07/22. Present on this visit were 43 preschool children and 4 additional staff members. The incident was for lack of care and supervision. A child was able to escape through two opening in a couple of fences without the knowledge or supervision of the staff on the playground. A homeowner next to the child care center called the police when a child who could not verbally explain who she was and how she got on his property showed up at his door.
Licensing Program Analyst Woods did a walk through of the facilities playground and observed that there was no longer a structure blocking the views of the staff who watch children while at play. LPA also took pictures of the gate where a small structure that blocked the staff views was removed. LPA also noticed that the child care center removed a play house where the children use to hide and play, away from the playground. LPA asked the facility representative what additional steps the facility has taken to assure the licensing department that they would not lose other children in care and the representative stated that the center has conducted staff training and also came up with plans to assure the licensing department that they are serious about safety and submitted that plan to child care licensing.
There were no deficiencies cited today. A Notice of Site Visit was posted and shall remain posted for 30 days. |
