32 | OUTDOOR PLAY AREA: School age program has scheduled times on the play yard separate from the preschool program. Center yard is separated and not shared with the Brier/Glankler Elementary school. There is a play structure with 3 slides with wood chips for cushioning to absorb falls and that is anchored for stability. Building has a overhang that provides shade to children while at play. There is a sandbox that has a secured cover with a canopy that provides shade to children while at play. Play yard has a garden with 3 sheds that have locks and are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed and Site Supervisor confirmed that there are no pools, hot tubs or any bodies of water present at the facility.
RECORDS: All individuals subject to criminal record review have a clearance or exemption and have been associated to the facility. Four (4) children's files and two (2) staff files were reviewed including Site Supervisors file. All staff files have required health screening and Employee Rights and all children files contain Identification & Emergency, Personal Rights, and Medical Consent forms. LPA reviewed the facility roster and obtained a copy. Mandated Reporter Training and CPR and First Aid certificates were reviewed and are up to date. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months and the last one conducted was on 2/18/2025. All required documents are posted in a public accessible area. At least one person trained in CPR/First aid is present at the facility when children present.
Center Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
