On 5/29/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Briana Plumboy met with Center Director Renu Saggi for an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA toured the facility and play yard for a health and safety inspection. In addition to the Director, there are 14 preschool age children and 3 staff present today (2 staff are not in ratio but are Kidango staff and provide support to various Kidango centers). The program consists of two half day sessions: 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 12:15 pm to 3:15 pm Monday - Friday in room #25 on the Searles Elementary School Campus.
Napping equipment is not needed because children in care do not nap at the facility. The teacher/child ratio was being met. The sign in/out was reviewed and matched the physical census of the children. The classroom is in good repair during today's inspection. Bathrooms were clean and in working order during today's inspection. The bathroom is an all gender restroom. The trash cans have tight fitting lids. Meals are prepared and delivered by Kidango, Inc. There is a menu posted for the entire month. The kitchen area appeared to be maintained during today's inspection. There was water readily available to children in care. All posting requirements are being met during today's inspection. Outdoor play area is fenced with a shade for the children. The center utilizes the grass area which is upon entry through the gate. The center has a fully charged fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, and First Aid Kit. All staff have current CPR and first aid training. All staff have received certificates in mandated reporter training. The licensee conducts and documents fire and disaster drills more than twice a year with the last one conducted on 4/10/24.
