Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji conducted the announced Case Management Inspection via the ZOOM platform. LPA was met by Program Compliance Manager, Margarita Saucedo, and Program Compliance Assistant Manager, Yesenia Alvarez. Present during today's visit were 5 napping infant aged children and 4 staff members.
This is a TITLE V center. The center has submitted an application for a CAPACITY INCREASE AND ROOM/YARD ADDITION. The facility is adding Room 20 on New Haven Adult School's campus and adding play yard nearest H street. Facility is currently requesting to increase from 16 infants to 32 infants. A virtual health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 6:00PM. The facility measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 1477.80 SQUARE FEET = 42 CHILDREN
OUTDOORS: 3423.00 SQUARE FEET = 46 CHILDREN
The center has obtained an approved fire clearance from Union City Fire Department on 3/31/2021. The fire clearance is approved with a capacity of 32 infant aged children. Kidango - Decoto Infant Center will have two approved classrooms (Room #19 and Room #20) for Infant Aged children. Facility will also have 2 play yards available for infants. The infant rooms are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. There are 2 toilets, 3 potty chairs and 5 sinks available for children use. The staff have a separate bathroom in the school hallway which will also serve as an isolation bathroom. Facility operates in two sessions which are AM and PM. Individual Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department.
