On July 26, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Simerjit Kaur conducted an UNANNOUNCED ANNUAL REQUIRED INSPECTION and met site director with Julianne Golden. The center also is licensed for maximum of 12 toddler option program with preschool age children and the Director is aware children in care may not commingle. The facility was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. Present the inspection were 6 staff, 1 toddler, 15 preschool children. The facility is within ratio and capacity compliance today. The facility operates Monday - Friday from 7:00am - 6:00pm.
There are 2 playgrounds designated for preschool age children and toddler age children. There are 2 rooms (Lassen, and Shasta) designated for preschool age children and 1 room (Whitney) for toddler age children. Classrooms have age appropriate furniture and equipment for the use of children in care. The changing table is within arms reach of the sink. There is adequate heating and lighting in the facility. The center is equipped with fully charged fire extinguishers, and carbon monoxide. Smoke detectors and fire alarms inspections are conducted by Denalect Alarm Company.
The restrooms are located inside each classrooms. There are adequate storage hooks for children's belongings. All toilets, hand washing and cleaning areas are in safe and sanitary operating condition during today's inspection. Meals are provided by parents and AM/PM snacks provided by center. There is a menu posted inside Room Whitney. The kitchen/food preparation and storage areas appear to be clean and free of evidence of rodents. There is drinking water available indoors and outdoor. All storage containers for solid waste had a tight-fitting lids. Cots are available for use of children for naps. The bedding is sent home weekly to be washed by the child's family. The staff restroom is located in Room Shasta.
The outside play structures have adequate and appropriate cushioning material to absorb falls.

There is a shaded area provided for the children. There are no pools or similar bodies of water at this facility. It was observed that there are no toxins or hazardous items accessible to children in care during today's inspection. The facility appears to be safe, and sanitary. The center is in compliance with the sign in and out procedure. The center has conducted and documented a fire/disaster drill on 7/5/2023. Per director, there are no firearms present on the premises. A copy of the children’s roster was obtained. LPA reviewed children and staff members files. The opener, and the closer staff have current CPR/First Aid certificates.

LPA discussed the Individual Infant Sleep Plan (LIC 9227) and infant/toddler sleep logs. Per director all sleep, feeding and diaper logs are logged on facility daily log form. The director was reminded that baby bouncers, exersaucers, johnny jumpers and similar items are not allowed in licensed day care.

Facility representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.



Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. LPA verified that the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.
