25 | On 7/13/23, a Case Management Visit was conducted for adding a toddler option by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melissa Domantay. LPA met with Director Boris Alvarado. Present for today's inspection are 12 staff and 43 children. The center has submitted an application to add a toddler option to the preschool component. Hours of operation are from 8:15am-5:15pm, Monday through Friday. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. Measurements remain the same. Toddlers will utilize Classroom 106. Per the Director when no toddlers are enrolled Classroom 106 will be utilized by the preschool program. Per LPM Mendoza toddler classroom, Room 106 can be utilized for Preschool program when no toddlers are enrolled and classrooms can be shared with a schedule in place when both components have children enrolled. Toddlers have their own outdoor play yard separate from preschool and infant components also on site.
A fire clearance was received from the Berkeley Fire Department for 62 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry with toddler option, 12 toddlers ages 18 months to 36 months. Total capacity 74 children. Fire clearance dated 5/2/23. Also on site, 18 infants.
The toddler outdoor playground was inspected and observed to be fenced and safe. The play equipment was maintained in good condition and free of hazards. Areas around the outdoor play yard are cushioned with material that absorbs falls. Shade is provided by way of covered areas. There were no bodies of water observed during today's inspection.
Drinking water is available inside and outside. Children utilize personal reusable water bottles. The facility has 2 toilets and 4 sinks for toddler children to utilize inside Classroom 106. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. Facility provides breakfast, lunch, and snack for children. Facility utilizes manual form sign in and out.
The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit, working telephone, carbon monoxide detector, fire alarm, and fully charged fire extinguishers. |
