13 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kassandra Medrano conducted an unannounced inspection in order to deliver findings on the complaint investigation for the above allegation. LPA Medrano met with the Director, Soni Singh to discuss complaint allegation and finding.
It was alleged that staff yell at children while in care. LPA Medrano interviewed staff, management, and parents. Based on interviews, observations, as well as information gathered; it was found that staff speak inappropriately to children in care.Therefore violating the children's personal rights. The allegation noted above is thus found to be SUBSTANTIATED, meaning the allegation is valid because the preponderance of the evidence standard has been met.
A Type “A” violation was issued today. The center was advised to provide a copy of the Evaluation Report and the Type “A” Deficiency cited to the parents and guardians of children currently enrolled in care and to parents of newly enrolled children during the next 12 months. A signed and dated LIC 9224 shall be maintained in all Children's files. This report and appeal rights were provided and reviewed with the Director, Soni. Notice of Site Visit and Type A Citation shall remain posted for 30 days.
