On June 27, 2024, at 8:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Janai McClain arrived at the home for an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA met with the licensee Bridgitte Price. Present during the inspection were one fingerprint cleared assistant, one infant, one school age child, and three preschool age children in care. Licensee stated that the facility operates 24 hours. Licensee was reminded that a child may not remain in care for more than 24 hours.

The facility is a 2-story home with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a garage, and a fully fenced backyard. There is a screened fireplace in the living room and a trampoline in the backyard. Licensee was reminded that only one child at a time is permitted on the trampoline and all safety requirements indicated by the manufacturer must be followed.

On-limit-areas include: day care room, the downstairs bathroom, and the backyard. ISOLATION AREA: the couch in the day care room

Off-limit-areas include: The entire second floor, downstairs bedroom, deck in the backyard, and garage.

There were ample age appropriate toys that were observed to be safe and in good condition. The home is neat and clean, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during the inspection. The home has a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a working smoke detector, a working carbon monoxide detector, and telephone. There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the on-limit areas during today's inspection.

The facility is operating within its licensed capacity and is in ratio. The licensee's CPR & First Aid training has been completed and expires 11/2024. The Licensee's Mandated Reporter certificate expires 11/2024. Fire/disaster drills have been conducted and recorded with the last drill logged 5/6/2024.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers/.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
