25 | On June 30, 2022., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required Inspection and met with Director, Amina Asaiyed. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. There were 35 (thirty-five) children present during this inspection and 7 (seven) additional staff members. The facility consists of 3 (three) classrooms for the summer session. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are 7:00 AM-6:00 PM, Monday -Friday.
CLASSROOMS: The 3 (three) classrooms were inspected and each room has adequate play and learning materials available. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The isolation area for sick children is in the director's office and/or the sick room away from other children in care. The center has a wired smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, pull down fire alarm system, one (1) fully charged 3A40BC and one fully charged (1) 2A10BC fire extinguishers.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: The staff's bathroom is separate from the children's bathroom. All sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children can reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: This facility provide snacks for the children. There are weekly menus posted at the facility. There's no kitchen for the preschool. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.
