25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Director Susan Neiberger for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. In addition to the Director, there were 15 children and 5 staff members present today. The facility operates in Room #7 (also known as Toddler 2), Room #6 (also known as Toddler 1), and Room #5 (also known as Infant), Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The facility was inspected both indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards, and the following observations were made.
The facility has a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. During today’s inspection, the LPA did not observe any bodies of water. All furniture is in good repair.LPA observed that the changing table is within arm’s reach of a sink. There are cubbies with the children’s names and pictures on them to store their personal belongings. LPA also observed the napping area, which contains see-through cribs with no objects inside them. Each child has their own bedding, which is washed weekly. LPA observed individual Infant Sleep Plans (LIC9227) for all infants under the age of 12 months and reviewed the sleep log, which shows 15-minute checks. All infants’ individual food items are labeled and properly stored in the refrigerator. The children bring their water bottles, and the facility refills them using a Brita jug. LPA reviewed storage of food and observed that all food is in original packaging or labeled with expiration date. The classroom has appropriate postings. The last Emergency Drill was conducted on 10/31/2024 and is properly logged. Medications are stored on a high shelf which is inaccessible to children in care.The facility uses the Bright Day app to sign-in and sign-out the children in care. The center maintains a complete record of the children’s sign-in and sign-out times.The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. A review of six children’s files and four staff files was completed. All children have emergency identification information and immunization records on file. All staff members have a criminal record clearance on file. Each staff member has current CPR and First Aid certification on file, as well as completed mandated reporter training.
