25 | On September 3, 2025, at 10:25 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with licensee Ericka McDonald. LPA disclosed the purpose of the visit and conducted a health and safety inspection, touring the facility both inside and outside. Present during the inspection was the licensee’s fingerprint cleared assistant, and two preschool-age children. The facility currently operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM.
This single-story home, lease by the licensee, consists of three bedrooms, two baths, living and dining room, kitchen, backyard, and two car garage. The home was observed to be clean, orderly, and equipped with centralized heating, and ventilation for the safety and comfort.
At 11:15 AM, LPA inspected the backyard area and confirmed that no pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water were present, in compliance with childcare licensing regulations. The outdoor play area is fully fenced and free from defects or hazardous conditions. A canopy and trees provide shade and protection from sunlight. The play area includes small slides with cushioning underneath to absorb falls, as well as age-appropriate play equipment for all age in care.
On-limit-areas include: Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Bedroom #1, Bathroom adjacent to Kitchen and Backyard.
The Isolation area of the home is the living room, away from other children in care.
Off-limit-areas include: Bedroom #2, bedroom #3, garage and bathroom #2.
The off-limits will be made inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
LPA tested the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors located in the hallway and living room and found both to be functioning properly. The home is equipped with a working telephone, a first aid kit, a pull-down fire alarm system, and a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, which meets the standards established by the State Fire Marshal.
