On 7/30/2024 at 10:00AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaleesa Jackson met with Licensee Deanna Gallegos for an Unannounced Annual/Random visit. Present during the inspection was the Licensee, her adult son, her assistant, 6 preschool aged children, and 2 infants. The facility operates 7:00AM to 5:30PM, Monday - Friday The Licensee's home was toured for a health and safety inspection.

ON LIMITS AREA: Living Room, Family Room (Playroom), Dining Area, Kitchen, Bedroom #1 (right of Living room), Hallway Bathroom, Front Yard, Backyard

OFF LIMITS AREA: 4 bedrooms upstairs, Pool area and Garage

ISOLATION AREA: Living Room

The facility is a two-story house owned by the Licensee. The inside of the home was observed to have age-appropriate materials for the children. During today's inspection all toxins, cleaning products, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. All off limit areas in the home are made inaccessible by gates and closed doors. The home has centralized heat and air for proper ventilation. Licensee does have a pool in the back yard and is made inaccessible to children. LPA observed that the pool has at least 5 feet tall fence around it, the gate opens away from the pool, is self closing, and self latching. Licensee provides all food for the children. There is a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher in the home. There is a working smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the home. Licensee stated there are no firearms. Licensee does have a small dog and has 3 chickens in an off limits area.

LPA Jackson observed the outdoor play area that has a play structure that is in good repair. The off limits area of the backyard has fence to make it inaccessible to children. The outdoor play area is also fenced all around with secured gates. There is a large shaded area in the playground provided for the children.

LPA Jackson reviewed 8 children’s files that are all complete. The licensee's Mandated Reporter expires 1/24/2025. The licensee has conducted and documented the fire and disaster drills at least twice a year and the last conducted drill was on 6/21/2024.

There were no deficiencies cited on today's visit.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the LICENSEE Deanna Gallegos, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
