25 | On June 23, 2022, at 8:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods met with licensee Basanti Maharjan for an Unannounced Required 1 Year Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. Present during the inspection was the licensee's fingerprint cleared husband, I. Maharjan, three (3) infants and eight (8) preschool age children. Licensee stated that the facility operates from Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
LPA toured the facility to conduct a Health and Safety inspection. This two story home was clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for the safety and comfort of children in care. The Isolation area will be a section of the childcare room near the bathroom, away from other children in care. Bedroom number four(4) in the main house will be used as the sleeping area.
On-limit-areas are the: Covered patio, converted garage with rear bathroom, bedroom(4) in main house, and backyard.
Off-limit-areas are : Main house bedrooms (1), bedroom (2) and bedroom (3), kitchen, two bathrooms, living and dining room.
There are no pools, hot tubs or any other bodies of water present in the on-limit areas during today's inspection. There are ample age appropriate toys that appear to be safe and in good condition. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials or toxins accessible to children during today’s inspection.
The home has two (2) fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide detector, first aid kit, and telephone. The converted garage area will be used for the child care and consist of two child care rooms and a bathroom. There's no fireplace accessible to children. Per licensee, there are no firearms in the home. The licensee is in compliance with the immunization laws which pertains to all childcare providers.
