25 | On March 8, 2023., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux conducted an unannounced 1 Year Required Inspection and met with the Director, Monica Galang. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the representative. There were 70 preschool children and 26 toddlers present during this inspection, total of 96 children. There were 17 additional staff members. The facility consists of 5 classrooms. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. The hours of operation are 7:30 AM- 6:00 PM, Monday -Friday.
CLASSROOMS: There are a total of five classrooms, Maple, Oaks, Juniper, Aspen, and Redwood. At approximately 10:10 AM the facility was toured and teacher child ratio was observed. There are adequate play and learning materials available. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. The isolation area for sick children is in the director's office, away from the children in care. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. Parent supply lunches and water bottles (labeled). There a six (6) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, a functioning carbon monoxide detector in each classroom, wired smoke detectors, sprinkler system, fully stocked first aid kits, and pull down fire alarms. All solid waste storage containers have tight fitting covers on and appear to be in good repair.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: This facility provides snacks for children in care and there are monthly menu posted at the facility in the office area. LPA observed an area where there are refrigerators in these areas it is clean and free of evidence of rodents. Food is protected from contamination and, per staff, contaminated food is discarded immediately. Low-fat 1% milk is being served at this facility. Pesticides and other similar toxic substances are not stored in cabinets that contains food. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.
OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: There's is two yards one for the preschool age and one for toddlers both have play structure with a slide that has cushioning to absorb falls that is anchored. There's also a canopy that provides shade to children while at play. The staff brings out the water bottles outside to keep the children hydrated. The playground is fully fenced. There are sheds that contains toys and equipment that has a lock on the playground which is inaccessible to children.
