25 | On April 10, 2025, at 2:21pm Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Randy Miranda arrived and met with licensee Sarika Rathi for the purpose of conducting an unannounced annual inspection for health and safety. Living in the home is the licensee, her TB test and fingerprint cleared husband, and two children. Present for today’s inspection was the licensee, her fingerprint cleared and TB tested assistant, fingerprint cleared and TB tested husband, daughter, and 12 children in care (4 infants, 1 two-year-old, 4 three-year-olds, and 3 four-year-olds). The facility is in ratio today. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm.
The facility is a two-story townhome with 2 bedrooms, 2 ½ bathrooms, a back yard patio area, and an attached 1-car garage. There is a fireplace which is blocked by a cubby shelf.
On-limit-areas: Living room, dining room, main house 1/2-bathroom on ground level, and backyard patio area (surrounded by property wood fencing).
Off-limit-areas: Entire 2nd level with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen, and attached 1-car garage. Hallway area near the foyer (main entrance area) is off limits with the exception for the pathway to the ½ bathroom, that is located near the main entrance. All off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, gate, and visual supervision.
ISOLATION AREA will be in the foyer area (main entrance area) away from other children in care.
There were ample age-appropriate toys that were observed to be safe and in good condition. The home is neat and clean, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA did not observe any hazardous materials, or toxins accessible to children on the premises during the inspection. An air conditioning condenser unit is located near a corner of the patio, but 100% supervision is maintained to prevent access to children in care. For best practice, LPA suggested a barricade be placed around the unit to prevent access.
