Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Director Neeraja Panganamala for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the director. In addition to the director, 92 children, and 15 staff members are present today. The facility operates Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm out of classrooms #1 and #2. #3 and #4. The facility was inspected indoors and outdoors today for health and safety hazards, and the following was observed;
LPA did not observe any bodies of water, firearms, or weapons on the premises. The Center is in good condition, has proper temperature and ventilation, and is free of hazards. All furniture is in good repair. The Center has age-appropriate toys and equipment. A first aid kit and a first aid backpack are available. Medications are stored on a high shelf, inaccessible to children in care. The outdoor play area is fenced for supervision. The play structure is age-appropriate and in good condition. The classroom has appropriate postings. The last Emergency Drill was conducted on 04/17/2024 and is appropriately logged. The program provides daily snacks, and children bring their lunch. The menu is posted in a visible location and is dated for the entire month. LPA reviewed food storage and observed that all food is in its original packaging or labeled with an expiration date. LPA did not observe any dangerous items accessible today, including medications, poisons, disinfectants, or cleaning supplies, that could be dangerous to the children in care. The facility uses a procare child care system to sign in and out the children. The Center has a complete record of sign-in/out sheets from an authorized pick-up person. There is a working fire alarm system. The room has a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. A review of 8 children's files and nine staff files was completed. All children have a record of emergency identification information and immunization records on file. All staff has a criminal record clearance on file. The opening and closing staff have a current Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate on file.

During inspection,

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. This facility does provide IMS (Incidental Medical Services) to children currently. If any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department.
