On 10/15/21 at 10:00am, LPA Briana Plumboy met with center Director Shelly Sachdeva for an unannounced random inspection. The center was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. There were 9 children present during the visit. Also present for the visit was Amit Sachdeva and teacher Divya Bandigari. The center is located inside the Shops at Waterford. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 12:30pm only. In the afternoon, the center will be used by JEI Learning Center. Commingling between two programs is never allowed. The center will utilize five rooms for children to use.
The center has obtained an approved fire clearance on 6/23/17. There are no bodies of water nor any firearms or weapons in the premises. Storage for cleaning supplies are locked and made inaccessible to children. The preschool classroom is equipped with varied furniture and toys. There are 2 toilets and 3 sinks available for children. The staff has a separate bathroom. The office will serve as isolation area for sick children. This is a half day program, thus no cots/mats are needed. This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services (IMS). The IMS Plan of Operation is stated in the Parent Handbook. The center has a water fountain for children to use and each child has individual storage for their belongings. The center will not provide meals however morning snacks will be provided. First aid supplies are available in the center. There is a fully charged fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector and working Telephone. The sign in/out sheets are available and complete. There is no outdoor activity space. Licensing postings are visible for public views and correctly posted on the wall. A menu is posted on the licensing board. The center was found to be clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair during today's inspection. Disaster drills are being conducted at least once every 6 months, and the log indicates the last fire drill was conducted on 9/15/21 and the last earthquake drill was conducted on 9/24/21. The center roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. A review of 9 children's files and 2 staff files was completed. See 809-C for continuance

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was encouraged to frequently visit our website at ccld.ca.gov for licensing regulations and updates.

Licensee is reminded that ALL assistants, volunteers, and staff, that are 18 years of age or older must be fingerprint cleared and associated to this facility prior to being in the presence of children in care or an immediate civil penalty will be assessed from $100 to $3000 per person, per incident. Licensee was reminded of the responsibility as a mandated reporter. All forms can be downloaded at www.ccld.ca.gov


A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

No deficiencies cited during today's inspection. Appeal rights provided and discussed. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee Shelly Sachdeva.
