On 08/29/2023 at approximately 12:50PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaleesa Jackson arrived for an unannounced required inspection and met with Licensee Sandeep Waraich. Present for todays visit was the licensee, two fingerprint cleared staff, 3 infants, 6 preschool aged children, and licensees preschool aged son. The other adults residing in the home are the licensee's husband, licensees mother in law, and father in law. All adults present during today's visit are fingerprint cleared. The home was toured with the licensee to conduct a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation for the day care are Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 6:00pm.

ON LIMITS: bathroom #1 in the main day care area, fenced backyard, main day care area (located in the back left side of the house), hallway entry (isolation area)
OFF LIMITS: Entire second floor, garage, 4 bedrooms, bathroom #2, kitchen, dining area, left and right-side yards, family room, and front yard. Off limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors, gate for the staircase, and visual supervision.

The home is neat with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA also observed that the backyard area is free of sharp and potential hazardous items and has a tree that provides shade to the children in care. There were ample toys that were observed to be safe and in good condition. During todays visit all toxins, medications, and hazardous materials were inaccessible to children. There is a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working dual carbon monoxide and smoke detector, and telephone at the facility. There is a fireplace present in the home in an off-limits area. There are no firearms or bodies of water present during today’s inspection. There are two small birds at the home.

The licensee conducts and documents fire drills. The log indicates a drill was conducted 06/07/2023. All required licensing documents are posted and visible for public review. During todays visit 9 children's files were reviewed and found to be complete. The children's roster was reviewed and a copy obtained. The licensee is in ratio for today's visit. The facility provides snacks in the morning and afternoon as well as lunches. The children have accessible drinking water inside and outside of the facility.

Family Child Care Homes Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
