On October 22, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) M. Domantay met with Assistant Director,Monique Moss for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection to remeasure the outdoor toddler and preschool outdoor play yard. Applicant requests a preschool license to serve 11 preschool children from age two years to first grade entry, and 13 toddlers ages 18 to 36 months. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The fire clearance was granted on 8/28/2024 by the Oakland Fire Department.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is 1 designated toddler and preschool outdoor area that Applicant is requesting for the programs to share on a set rotated schedule. Applicant is requesting for the preschool play yard to be shared outdoor space for toddlers when not being utilized by preschool children. The preschool and toddler outdoor play areas is fenced with a concrete wall that is at least four feet tall. There is no play structure in the preschool play yard. Play areas are surrounded by turf as cushioning to cushion a child's fall in the preschool/toddler play yard. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. There are no bodies of water on the premises. LPA reminded Assistant Director to ensure to empty all water tables when not in use. There is sufficient shading areas provided by canopies in the play yard.

LPA measured the preschool outdoor activity space. The Preschool outdoor play area contains a total of 1600.33 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 11 preschool children and 13 toddler children. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).

LPA notified Assistant Director that Applicant will need to submit a request for a waiver for the outdoor preschool play yard to be shared with toddler component with a set schedule in place.

LPA discussed 100% supervision is always required in all areas that children have access to including the
bathroom. Personal Rights, inspection authority, reporting requirements, maintaining buildings and grounds
was reviewed. Staff Qualifications, Staff to Children’s ratios and Capacity was explained to ensure
compliance. LPA discussed with Applicant any changes that may occur regarding the director or an employee acting in the director’s absence must be reported to the department within 10 working days.

Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.



Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD) regularly sends information to licensed facilities, providers, and
stakeholders by way of Provider Information Notices (PIN), Program Quarterly Update Newsletters and other
important information communication platforms.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Assistant Director, Monique Moss.
