On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) M. Domantay met with the Head of School, Stephanie Fu for the purpose of an unannounced case management inspection for an application that was submitted for a change of capacity and adding a room. Facility is requesting to increase infant capacity from 12 to 24 infants, decreasing toddler program from 51 to 48 toddlers, and adding an infant classroom, Room#112. Facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 5/30/2024 for 24 infants ages 0 to 24 months and 48 toddlers ages 18 to 36 months by the Alameda County Fire Prevention.

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are 2 infant indoor areas designated for the infant program, Room# 112 and Room# 209. There is a separate crib area in each classroom.

Infant classroom is equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. The infant program will serve crib-aged infants. LPA observed there is a separate crib/nap area for infants in Room #112 and Room#209. Per Head of School, Stephanie facility will serve 4 crib aged infants. LPA observed 4 cribs during today's inspection. The diaper changing counters are within arms reach of a sink. There are 3 sinks and 2 toilets available in the infant classrooms. There is a separate private restroom for the staff within the facility. The Head of School's office and/or Lobby will serve as the isolation area for ill children and will use the staff restroom, if necessary. Infant families will provide food for infants. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out system. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed a first aid kit on the wall in the infant classrooms. LPA observed a combination carbon monoxide detector in the Head of School's office during inspection.

LPA measured infant areas, Classroom #112 and Classroom #209. The total classroom space contains a total of 1156.36 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for the additional 12 infant children. There are 4 designated classrooms for the toddler program, Rooms #101, 103, 114, and 116. All measurements remain the same from previous inspections for the toddler program. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024).

OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:


All outdoor measurements for the infant and toddler programs remain the same from previous inspections. No changes have been made. There are no pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water present. LPA reminded Head of School, Stephanie that all water tables must be emptied after each use.

LPA discussed 100% supervision is always required in all areas that children have access to including the
bathroom. Personal Rights, inspection authority, reporting requirements, maintaining buildings and grounds
was reviewed. Staff Qualifications, Staff to Children’s ratios and Capacity was explained to ensure
compliance. LPA discussed with Applicant any changes that may occur regarding the director or an employee acting in the director’s absence must be reported to the department within 10 working days.

Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
