25 | On 5/19/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Guirit conducted a case management inspection at this facility. LPA met with Director, Kendrika Watson. There were 16 children and three staff present during today's inspection. An application was received with a request to add a room to the license, Room #7, mulit-purpose room and "blue area", which will be used as an eating area. Per Director, the new rooms will be used at the beginning of Fall 2023. The facility will operate Monday-Friday 1:40pm-6:30pm on the grounds of Cornell Elementary School.
A tour of the rooms were conducted for a health and safety inspection with Director, Kendrika Watson. LPA observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment, furniture, and are equipped with varied age appropriate materials and equipment. LPA did not observe any hazardous items, defects or dangerous conditions. The entrance area of the room has a fully charged fire extinguisher and centralized combination carbon monoxide/smoke detection system. A fire clearance, dated 1/18/23, was received from the Albany Fire Protection Department for a clearance of 60 school-age children, ages 4.9 years to 12 years.
Room #7, Multi-purpose room and "blue area" will be added to the school age license effective 5/19/23 with a capacity of 60 children. There are no deficiencies being cited. An exit interview was conducted with Director, Kendrika Watson. Appeal rights were provided. |
