25 | On 11/17/22, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Melissa Guirit and Melissa Domantay conducted a Prelicensing inspection today, for the new initial application for infant/toddler. LPAs met with Director of Operations, Carla Cooper and Area Manager, Joshua Jackson and toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. There were no children present during today's inspection. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Measurements are as follows:
INDOOR: 1,597.29 sq ft = 44 children
OUTDOOR: 2,367.25 sq ft = 32 children
A fire clearance, with a total capacity of 32 children, 16 infants and 16 toddlers was received from the Oakland Fire Department on 11/7/22.
LPAs observed that the classrooms has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPAs observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The infant component will utilize the classroom on the right, while the toddlers will utilize the classroom on the left side. The infant crib area has six cribs for crib age children. The facility has a total of 10 sinks and 2 toilets and the changing tables are within arms reach of a sink. The building has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, working fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPAs did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Facility will provide water for children, with water still accessible to children inside and outside. Facility will provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. For infants, formula, wipes, diapers will be provided. If milk is provided by parent, facility is able to store it properly. Facility will utilize electronic sign in/out.
