25 | On 04/13/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melissa Guirit conducted a Prelicensing inspection today for an initial application for a preschool component. LPAs met with Applicant/Director, Lita Reeves and toured all areas of the facility for a health and safety inspection. There will only be one classroom being utilized for children. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 6:00pm. The measurements are as follows:
INDOORS: 769 sq feet = 22 children
OUTDOORS: 4,043.72 sq feet = 54 children
A fire clearance notification per Fire Inspector, A. Polk was received on 1/5/2023 from the Oakland Fire Department for 27 preschoolers, ages two years to first grade entry.
LPA observed that the preschool classroom has sufficient lighting and appears to be clean and in good condition. LPA observed an ample supply of age appropriate activities, equipment and furniture. The facility has a total of three sinks and two toilets available for children to utilize. There is a separate staff bathroom. The classroom has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, working fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and first aid supplies. There is a working telephone at the center. LPA did not observe any hazardous items that would be accessible to children. Water still accessible to children inside and outside. Per applicant, the facility will be part of the food program and will provide breakfast, AM snack, lunch, and PM snack to the children in care. Facility will utilize manual sign in/out.
