25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Licensee Sailaja Chillarige for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the licensee. During this inspection, the Licensee and helper were supervising two (2) infants and ten (10) preschoolers. The licensee lives in the house with her husband and two kids. The two-story home has five bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, dining room, mud room, laundry room, garage, and back yard. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. The facility has liability insurance through the DCI insurance.
ON-LIMIT AREAS are the first-floor bedroom with bathroom, half bathroom across from the bedroom, and dining room.
OFF-LIMIT AREAS are the entire second floor, kitchen, living room, mud room, and garage. All the off- limit areas are made inaccessible to children.
LPA inspected the house for health and safety hazards. The home has a working telephone, a working smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fire extinguisher that meets the minimum requirements. During today's inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. A fireplace in the daycare room is screened to prevent access. During the inspection, the Licensee confirmed that no firearms or weapons are stored in the house. The fire drill log indicates that the last drill was conducted on 01/07/2025 at 10:00 am. Each child has separate blankets and cots. Per Licensee bedding is washed weekly. There are two dogs in the home. Per licensee, pets stay in the off-limit areas. The licensee stated that she uses the nearby park for the outdoor play area, and the licensee is reminded that 100% visual and physical supervision is required when going to and from the park. The Licensee's first aid and CPR expire on 05/06/2025, and the mandated reporter certificate expires on 1/08/2026. The Licensee provides daily snacks and meals. LPA reviewed children's files. The infant files have an individual sleep plan (LIC9227). All required postings are properly posted. The facility roster was reviewed, and a copy was obtained. The Licensee documents 15 minutes sleep check.
