25 | On March 24, 2026, at 8:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elimika Woods conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Licensee Graciela Escobedo. LPA disclosed the purpose of the visit and conducted a health and safety inspection, touring the facility both inside and outside. Present during the inspection were the licensee’s two fingerprint-cleared assistants and nine children in care, consisting of six preschool-age children and three infants. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The facility is a single-story home owned by the licensee, consisting of four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living and dining room, kitchen, childcare room, backyard, and garage. The home was observed to be clean and orderly, with centralized heating and ventilation to ensure the safety and comfort of the children.
The off-limits bedroom areas are secured with a gate/barrier (located at the back side of the kitchen) to prevent children from accessing those areas. LPA inquired whether the licensee transports children or has any firearms in the home. The licensee stated that she does not transport children and that there are no firearms in the home.
On-limits areas include: the living and dining room, kitchen, childcare room, nap room, bedroom #2, bathroom next to the nap room, and the front yard. The isolation area is designated as a section of the living room, separated from other children in care.
Off-limits areas include: bedroom #1 (next to the bathroom), master bedroom and bathroom, laundry room, both side yards, side deck, and garage. These areas are made inaccessible to children through closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
At 8:00 AM, LPA inspected the front yard and confirmed that no pools, hot tubs, or other bodies of water were present, in compliance with childcare licensing regulations. The outdoor play area includes various play equipment and furniture, such as benches, tables and chairs, crawling tunnels, playhouses, play kitchens, play cars, tracks, trucks, swings, and slides. The swings are securely anchored to the ground with cushioning underneath to absorb falls. The front yard is fully fenced and free from defects or hazardous conditions. Trees provide shade and protection from harmful sunlight during outdoor play.
