25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with licensee Rajashri Chatterjee for a CASE MANAGEMENT VISIT - INCREASE IN CAPACITY. All adults requiring background clearance have been cleared and associated with this facility. Present during this inspection was Licensee, supervising four children (three infants and one preschooler). The Licensee lives in the house with her husband and two minor children. The home is a two-story home with five bedrooms (including in-laws suite), 3.5 bathrooms, laundry room, living room, kitchen, dining area, mud room, loft, and backyard. The In-law suite will be the only daycare area for children, which is located on the first floor and consists of 1 bedroom, one bathroom, and a closet. The entrance to the daycare is through the suite's main door. The Licensee operates Monday-Friday from 8:30 am-5:30 pm. The facility has approved fire clearance from the Dublin Fire Department with the condition that the garage and second floor cannot be used at any time.
ON-LIMIT AREAS: In-laws suite consists of one bedroom, closet (storage only), and full bathroom and Living room (walk through to the backyard only)
OFF-LIMIT AREAS, first floor- kitchen, mud room, dining area, half bathroom located in the middle of garage door and mud room, closets in the hallway, garage, and the entire second floor. All off-limit areas are inaccessible by closed and/or locked doors and visual supervision.
There are no pools, hot tubs, ponds, or other bodies of water. All hazardous materials and toxins were observed to be made inaccessible to children. All bathroom/kitchen cabinets are latched to prevent children from access. The stairway has a child safety gate to prevent access to the second floor of the house. The home has fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguishers, a working smoke detector, a working carbon monoxide detector, and a working telephone. Per the Licensee, there are no firearms in the facility. The Licensee CPR and first aid certificate are current and expires 10/2024. The Licensee has current immunization records on file. There are no pets in the home. Licensee provides lunch and snacks. All required postings are properly posted. LPA discussed safe sleep guidelines and 15-minute check requirements.
Staff-children’s ratios were discussed with the Licensee for a Large Family Childcare Home (FCCH).
If there is no helper, the Licensee will need to operate within the small FCCH in regard to ratios. If care is provided to the 7th and 8th child for a Small FCCH or the 13th and 14th child for a Large FCCH, the last two children need to be school-aged (6 years old). The licensee was advised that her ten-year-old and under children will be counted in the capacity.
