25 | A Case Management Inspection was conducted on this date 09/01/2022 by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with center director, Yujing "Kathy" Huang. The center has submitted an application for an increase in capacity from 15 to 96 preschool aged children. Facility has added a new building which includes 4 preschool classrooms and additional elementary school classrooms. Elementary school students will not commingle with preschool aged children at any time. The center will be operating in 4 classrooms (Rooms 11, 12, 13, and 14). Hours of operation are from 8:00am - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The following is the total overall measurement:
INDOORS: 3213.72 square feet = 91 children
OUTDOORS: 1307.82 square feet = 17 children
There are 12 sinks, and 8 toilets available for children. There is a staff bathroom located in the lobby. Children will utilize the infirmary if they become ill while in care. Children will also utilize the staff bathroom while ill. Facility will utilize initial playground area until new playground is ready and approved by licensing. Director is aware that facility must submit an application to increase capacity and add the new playground once it is completed. Drinking water is available inside and outside. A yard waiver is being requested to allow no more than 17 children at a time on the play yard. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. Menus are posted. AM/PM Snacks are provided and prepared on site. Children bring their lunch from home or have the option to purchase a lunch from the school. The storage of napping equipment was observed. Facility's alarm system includes the smoke and carbon monoxide detector.
A review of staff records on 09/01/2022 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. |
