A Case Management Visit was conducted on this date 4/15/2022 by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melanie Otsuji. LPA met with Director, Shabriese Davis. The center has submitted an application for an increase in capacity from 8 infant children to 22 infant children and to add a room (CLASSROOM D). Hours of operation are from 7:00am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Present during today's visit was 1 additional staff member and 6 napping infant children. Also on site is a PRESCHOOL COMPONENT (CAP: 30). A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. The following is the total overall measurement for both CLASSROOM A and CLASSROOM D:

INDOORS: 752.65 square feet = 22 children
OUTDOORS: 612.17 square feet = 8 children

Facility has requested an outdoor play yard waiver to have a capacity 22 children although their outdoor space only allows for 8. Facility will have no more than 8 children on the play yard at any time. Per Director openers and closers have current CPR/FA. Playground equipment is in good condition. Drinking water is available inside and outside by way of pitchers, cups, and water bottles. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. There is a kitchen inaccessible to children. Menus are posted. Lunch and AM/PM snacks are provided and prepared on site. There is adequate variety and quantity of foods to meet the children's needs. The sign in and out logs were reviewed. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector.

A review of staff records on 4/15/2022 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. The center has obtained an approved fire safety inspection from San Leandro Fire Prevention on 4/8/22. All licensing required documents are posted.
