25 | On 12/4/2024 at 8:15am Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Morgan Pringle met with Internum Director Marangelli "Mary" Velasquez for an Unannounced Annual/Random Inspection. There were fourty-three (43) preschool age children, and four (4) additional staff present during the inspection. Five (5) classrooms, Room 1, Room 2, Room 3, Room 4 and Room 5 were toured for a health and safety inspection. The facility operates from 7:45am – 5:45pm, Monday – Friday.
LPA observed all classrooms to have ample age-appropriate materials for the children’s learning and play that were clean, properly stored and in proper working order. All toxins, cleaning products, medications, and hazardous materials were observed to be in inaccessible areas. LPA observed all medications on site to be properly stored and documented. The two (2) children’s bathrooms are clean, well maintained, and free from defects with ample number of sinks and toilets that are in proper working order. The facility does not use diapering tables, but all diapering materials were observed to be properly stored. All napping materials were observed to be well maintained and properly stored. The facility provides sleeping cots, and all bedding is brought from the children’s home. All children have access to clean drinking water in each classroom. All children bring their own water bottles from home and the facility has water available to refill them if needed. There are multiple properly working smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits on site. The facility does not transport children.
LPA observed the food prep area to be clean, well maintained, and free from defects. All food on site was observed to be properly labeled and stored. Facility provides two (2) snacks a day (morning and afternoon) for the children and lunch is brought from the children’s home. All hazards and chemicals are kept separate from the food as well. All food that may be brought from the children’s home will be properly labeled and stored.
