25 | On June 24, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Lorraine Dacanay Breaux conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Facility Representative, Claudia Barrenechea. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the facility representative. There were nine (9) children present during the inspection and total of 8 staff members. The facility was toured for a health and safety inspection. Hours of operation are 8:30 AM to 5:30PM. The center is located on the premises of a church and consist of two rooms for the Infant/toddler component.
CLASSROOMS: The two (2) classrooms was inspected. The floors, furniture, and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There are adequate play and learning materials available. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The isolation area for sick children is the main office, away from other children in care. The center has a wired smoke detector, a carbon monoxide detector, working telephone, pull down fire alarm system, an 3 (three) fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: The staff's bathroom is separate from the children's bathroom. All sinks and faucets are in safe and sanitary operating condition. The children can reach the sinks and toilets. Changing table is in arm reach of the sinks.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: This facility does not provide lunch for the children, snacks are provided and weekly menus posted at the facility. LPA observed an area where they have a refrigerator this area is clean and free of evidence of rodents. Low-fat milk is being served and pesticides and other similar toxic substances are not stored in cabinets that contains food. All storage containers for solid waste have tight fitting covers that are in good repair.
