25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jyoti Saini met with Director Shubra Gupta for an unannounced Annual Random Inspection. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility. In addition to the Director and ten teachers, 41 children were present during the inspection. The program operates Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, and utilizes Room #101 (Nature Ville), Room #102 (Performance Art), Room #103 (Discovery Ville), Room #104 (Exploratorium), and Room #105 (Young Explorer, which is exclusively for toddlers). The building has a second floor, and the Director understands that no children are allowed on the second floor. The facility was inspected both indoors and outdoors for health and safety hazards. The following observations were made:
The facility has a hardwired carbon monoxide detector, smoke alarm, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and a working telephone available. During today's inspection, LPA did not observe any bodies of water. The Director confirmed that there are no firearms on the premises. All furniture is in good repair, and the center has age-appropriate toys and equipment. The facility also has a waiver for outdoor space, which was present and visible for review. The program provides lunch and snacks to the children in care. LPA reviewed food storage and observed that all food is stored in its original packaging. Cleaning supplies and toxins are stored in locked cabinet in the kitchen. The classroom has appropriate postings. Each child has a separate storage cubby labeled with their name. The last emergency drill was conducted on 9/18/2024. The facility utilizes the Kidz Connect app for children to sign-in and out, and for documenting 15-minute sleep checks. The children and staff have separate bathrooms, which are safe, sanitary, and free of hazardous items. Drinking water is readily available through water bottles brought from home, and the center uses Barita jugs to refill the bottles. According to the Director, the cots are cleaned by staff daily, and parents wash the blankets weekly.
