25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji arrived to the facility announced to conduct the pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with applicant Caixia Li. Licensee has an infant aged child and is aware that her child will count towards the family day care home ratio.
The single story, single family home was toured for a health & safety inspection. The ON LIMITS areas are: the living room, day care room behind the kitchen, nap room, 1st bathroom in hallway, and back yard. The OFF LIMITS areas are: The kitchen, two bedrooms and the garage. LPA inspected and verified that the fire extinguisher, is fully charged, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and home phone are in working condition. The home provides appropriate toys, learning materials and play equipment that are safe to use and appeared to be well maintained. Facility has a fireplace which remains barricaded, and not utilized.
Per applicant, day care hours of operation will primarily be Monday through Friday 8:30AM- 5:30PM.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The licensee provided proof of control of property. |
