25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Melanie Otsuji arrived to the facility announced to conduct the pre-licensing inspection of a relocation. LPA met with applicant, Maria Bernal-Garcia. Also residing in the home is the Licensee's fingerprint cleared spouse and two school-aged children.
LPA conducted a Health and Safety Inspection. The ON LIMITS areas are: the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom off of the kitchen, the bedroom at the back of the hallway (napping room), and the first bedroom on the right side of the hallway The OFF LIMITS areas are: the garage, the master bedroom, bathroom off of hallway and the backyard. LPA inspected and verified that the fire extinguisher, 2A10BC is fully charged, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and home phone are in working condition. The home provides appropriate toys, learning materials and play equipment that are safe to use and appeared to be well maintained. Licensee has current pediatric CPR/First aid certification which expires on 10/19/2026. Licensee has current mandated reporter training which was taken on 5/11/2023.
Per applicant, day care hours of operation will primarily be Monday through Friday 7:30 AM-5:30 PM.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. The licensee provided proof of control of property. |
