32 | 5 staff were interviewed on 10/25/23 and 11/15/23. S1 and S3 substantiated the allegations, S2, S4 and S5 denied the allegations. S1 and S3 stated that staff have made inappropriate comments about students’ intellectual disabilities and made racist comments about parents and that staff have grabbed children aggressively by the arm for redirection. S2, S4 and S5 stated that they have not heard staff make inappropriate comments about children and parents or have seen any staff grab children aggressively.
4 Children were interviewed on 11/15/23 and could not substantiate the allegations. C1 – C4 stated that no teacher has ever grabbed a child or made inappropriate comments about children in care.
4 parents were interviewed on 12/20/23 and P1 – P4 denied the allegations. P1 – P4 stated that they were unaware of any inappropriate comments being made by staff in front of children, specifically racist comments about parents or comments about children’s intellectual disabilities. P1-P4 also stated that they have not witnessed or heard of any children being grabbed by staff.
During today’s visit the facility was toured LPA S. Sims and E. Friese observed no children in care, facility's preschool is closed until 1/8/24
Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative Ariana Chavez.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. |
