13 | On 11/13/24 @ 8:00am LPA Elizabeth Friese conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with Director Kaitlin Vondran to deliver findings. The director and 2 teachers were supervising 13 children and operating within license capacity and ratio requirements.
On 10/15/24 at 11:25am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth Friese conducted an unannounced complaint inspection and met with Director Kaitlin Vondran. It was alleged that staff yell at daycare children, staff hit daycare children, staff leave daycare children unattended, and that staff speak inappropriately to daycare children. Specifically, that staff (S2) yells at children, hit a child (C10) with a cracker box, called a child a profane word, and left children unattended to go outside and harass a parent.
The director was interviewed on 10/15/24 at 11:25am and denied the allegations. She stated that staff has never yelled, hit, left unattended or spoken inappropriately to children, nor has anyone mentioned anything to her regarding such behavior. She relayed that on occasion when she hears staff use a "firmer" voice she corrects them immediately, and that is rare. If one teacher is ill, they always have enough staff to fill in from one of the other programs, never leaving children unattended or unsupervised.
2 staff were interviewed this date, and both denied the allegations. They indicated that their schedules overlap other than a half hour in the morning and a half hour in the evening, and they always communicate with each other to not leave children unattended at any time. S2 relayed that they sometimes have to raise their voices to be heard if the children are inside and being loud but nothing inappropriate. S2 denied using a profane word or hitting a child with a cracker box.
