On 12/21/22 at 11:00 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) N. Cunningham conducted an unannounced complaint inspection, and met with Director Linda Wright to deliver findings. It was alleged that a staff member (Adult 10) handled a child in a rough manner.

The director was interviewed on 10/03/22 and denied the allegation stating that she had never observed Adult 10 handle a child inappropriately. The director noted that the classrooms are set up so that staff can observe other staff. LPA Mendez toured the facility on 10/3/22 and LPA Cunningham toured the facility on 12/21/22; both LPAs did not observe any inappropriate interactions. LPA Cunningham observed four classrooms separated with cubicles that allowed for visual observation by multiple staff.
On 12/19/22 and 12/20/22 interviews were conducted with seven witnesses including five parents and three staff. Three parents (Adult 3, 4 and 6) denied or had no knowledge of Adult 10 handling a child in a rough manner. One parent (Adult 2) stated Child 2 stated a teacher hit her at school but did not state the teacher’s name. Adult 10 denied the allegation and stated they would never hurt a child. Three staff

(Adult 7 - 9) stated they never observed Adult 10 handle a child in a rough manner. One staff stated they often observed children run up and hug Adult 10. On 12/21/22, LPA interviewed three children (Child 3-5). The three children stated that when a child gets in trouble the teacher ask them to sit down. The evidence is not sufficient to either prove or disprove this allegation and is Unsubstantiated.

Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of the evidence to prove that the alleged violation occurred, and the findings are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted. Appeal rights were provided. The Notice of Site Visit must be posted for 30 days.
