25 | On 3/18/24 at 9am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), J. Snow conducted an announced Pre-Licensing inspection for an increase of capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Applicant/Facility Representative Kathleen Corbett. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 75 preschool children age children 2 -6 years of age. The facility currently operates in the Little Mustangs (Room 101), Little Lions (Room 102), and Little Bobcats (Room 104) and added Little Vikings, during today’s inspection. The hours of operation will be from 7:45am-5pm Monday – Friday. The facility is a Title 5 funded program Located on Marigold Elementary School grounds.
All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPA informed Kathleen Corbett that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. When medications are on site, Kathleen Corbett stated that they will locked in a lock box located in the cabinets in each classroom. There is an operational carbon monoxide detector on site on the ceiling combined with the smoke detector. All required licensing documents were observed posted in the Entry.
LPA continued to tour the facility and measured all indoor and outdoor activity space. Total indoor activity space in room # 101, 102, 102 & 104 measured 3,092 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 75 children. Total Outdoor activity space measured 8,321 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested overall capacity of 75 Children. LPA observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots/mats, cribs, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Infant toys are safe with no sharp edges, splinters, or points, nor made of small parts that can present a choking hazard.
