A prelicensing inspection was conducted today at 9:40am by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Laura Chavez. LPA met with Jodie Keller, ECE Program Director, Karen Fukushima, Head Start Program Support Manager and Center Director Maria Rivas. E Center Head Start Program is requesting a license for infants, with a capacity of 12. The Infant Migrant Program will operate Monday-Friday, 5:30am to 5:30pm, between the months of April and November. The infant program is located in Classroom #3 in the portable located to the left of the main building.

The indoor and outdoor activity spaces were toured, and the facility sketch was verified. The kitchen is located in a separate building on the property which is used to store and prepare meals. Infants will nap in the crib area or on mats in the classroom. The isolation area for sick children will be located in the Administration Office.

The outdoor play area is fully fenced. There is a large grass area to provide adequate cushioning underneath. There is no pool, spa, pond, fountain, or any other body of water on the premises. The poisons are locked in cabinets located in the classroom. There is safe and age appropriate furniture, toys, and play equipment available for infants.

A capacity worksheet was completed during the visit. There is enough indoor space for 12 children and outdoor space for 67 children. There is 1 sink available for children. A fire safety inspection was made on 6/23/2022. Based on the above, the maximum capacity of the facility could be 12.
