25 | On 6/20/23, a Case Management Visit was conducted for adding a toddler option by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Melissa Domantay. LPA met with Director of ECE Courtney Ludlow. Present for today's inspection are 16 staff and 67 children. The center has submitted an application to add a toddler option to the preschool component. Hours of operation are from 7:30am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday. A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and outside. Measurements remain the same. Toddlers will utilize the Oranim Bet Classroom and Oranim Alef Classroom in the Talmud Torah Center and the outdoor side play yard will be shared between both components with a schedule in place to ensure there is no commingling between components. The changing table is within arms reach of sink. Director will request a waiver for bathrooms to be shared between toddler and preschoolers.
A fire clearance was received from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection Department for 67 preschoolers, ages 2 years to first grade entry with toddler option, 28 toddlers ages 18 months to 36 months. Total capacity 95 children. Fire clearance dated 6/2/23.
The side play yard and big main play yard will be shared between preschool and toddler children with a schedule in place to ensure there is not commingling between programs. Per LPM Mendoza no waiver is needed to share outdoor play yards. Director, Courtney is reminded that play structure and red climbing dome is off limits to toddler program children and cannot play on structures. Playground equipment is in good condition. Drinking water is available inside and outside. Children utilize personal reusable water bottles. The facility has 7 toilets and 7 sinks for children to utilize. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating conditions. Facility will not provide food for children. Food is provided from home for children. Facility utilizes electronic form sign in and out.
The center is equipped with a fully stocked first aid kit, working telephone, carbon monoxide detector, fire alarm, and fully charged fire extinguishers.
