13 | On 3/9/2026 at 9:30 AM Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mone Flores and Kareeca "Reeca" Sykes conducted a Subsequent Complaint Investigation at Kindercare Learning Center- Lone Tree. LPAs met with Director, Shannon Regacho and explained the purpose of today's inspection. During today's inspection, there were 60 preschool children in care with 10 staff in 4 classrooms. Director stated there are 84 prechool children enrolled. Complainant alleges "staff did not prevent a facility classroom from smelling like marijuana."
During the course of the investigation, LPAs toured the facility and conducted interviews. LPAs conducted conflicting interviews with staff which support that some of the parents of children enrolled enter the facility during drop off/pick up times of the day with an aroma of marijuana and some stated multiple staff have had the aroma on their clothing. While touring the facility multiple times, LPAs did not smell any marijuana while present in the facility. The Director stated if staff were to appear to be under the influence they would be asked to be drug tested immediately. LPAs advised the Director that air fresheners are able to be used in the facility and that a plan should be submitted to LPA and implemented to staff when the public arrives at the facility smelling of marijuana to ensure the children are not exposed to the smell of marijuana. -Continued on LIC 9099C-
